The University of Nicosia has recently participated in the NEOLAIA alliance meeting. NEOLAIA is a consortium of 9 European Universities including the University of Nicosia, which aims to tackle global challenges and empower regionally rooted European talents. The University of Nicosia is leading the digital transformation work package of the alliance. Member of AI lab and Computer Science student Gülcan Damdelen also participated as a student representative and met with 14 other students to establish the foundations of the student network of NEOLAIA. The research conducted at the AI Lab is related to 2 out of the 3 action areas of NEOLAIA, which are Digitalization and its impact on sustainable development at a regional scale and Global Health Challenges and solutions at a Regional Scale.
